Perfect Veg Burger Recipe (Mix veggie tikki)
This Veggie burger is loaded with a fine blend of fresh vegetables , mashed potatoes tikki/patty & flavored with Indian spices.
Equipment
- Pan
- Chopping Board
- Ladle
- Knife
- Bowl
- Frying Pan
Ingredients
For Tikki/Patty
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tbsp ginger (adrak)- chopped
- 2 green chilies (hari mirch)- chopped
- 12-15 french beans- chopped
- 1 winter carrot (gazar)- chopped
- 2-3 large potato (aloo)- boiled & mashed
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder (lal mirch powder)
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste ( adrak lahsun ka paste)
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves (dhania)- chopped
For Coating Batter
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour (maida)
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
For breadcrumbs coating
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 2-3 tbsp poha- crushed
For Shallow fry Tikki:-
- 1/2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tbsp butter
For Roasting Burger buns:-
- 1 tbsp butter
For Veg Burger toppings:-
- 4 Sesame burger buns- whole wheat or plain
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 4-5 Cabbage leaves (patta gobhi)
- Salt to taste
- 1 Small to medium tomato- thinly sliced
- 1 Small to medium onion- thinly sliced & grilled
- 2 Cheese slice
- 2-3 Black or green pickled olives (jaitun)
For Serving:-
- Mayonnaise
- French fries
Instructions
- In a pan, add oil, butter, chopped ginger, green chili saute well.
- Add chopped vegetables (beans, carrots) and sauté it well till they become soft.
- Mash the boiled potatoes and add to the pan mix well.
- Add red chili powder, garam masala, salt to taste and ginger garlic paste and mix everything well.
- Now add chopped coriander and mix well.
- Remove the mixture in the bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
- Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and start making tikki/patty.
- With the help of a cookie cutter or with your hands and give it a proper shape.
- In a bowl, add all purpose flour, salt and water to make batter/slurry.
- Now add one of the tikki, coat it with batter
For Bread crumb coating
- In another bowl, add fresh bread crumbs, crushed poha, mix well and coat it over veg tikki properly.
For Shallow fry Tikki
- In a frying pan,add oil and butter and shallow fry the tikki till nice golden brown in color and crisp.
For Roasting Burger Buns
- Cut the buns and in another pan Toast the buns till light brown color.
- Add butter and slice the onion into rings and grill the onion on the same pan.
For Veg Burger Toppings
- Take the bottom half of bread and apply mayonnaise on it.
- Now place lettuce on it and sprinkle some salt then add slice tomato and sprinkle salt andpepper.
- Place the tikki on it and the grilled onions again add some more mayonnaise on top and at last add cheese slice and close the burger.
- Serve it with french fries and mayonnaise.
