  • 1 4 pound chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour for coating
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying

  • Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs. If desired, you can marinate the chicken in buttermilk for a few hours or overnight.
  • Dredge each chicken piece in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and coat it again with flour. This creates a double layer of breading for extra crispiness.
  • Heat a large skillet or deep fryer with oil to 350-375°F (175-190°C).
  • Carefully place the chicken pieces into the hot oil, a few at a time, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, usually about 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the pieces.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve the fried chicken hot and enjoy!
