  • 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cheese Filling:

  • 15 ounces 425g ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other Ingredients:

  • 12 lasagna noodles cooked and drained
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Meat Sauce:

  • Brown the ground meat in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it’s fully cooked and no longer pink.
  • Add chopped onions and garlic, sauté until they turn translucent.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, and adjust seasonings as needed.

Cheese Filling:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Lasagna Assembly:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent noodle sticking.
  • Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  • Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture evenly on the noodles.
  • Sprinkle a portion of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Add another layer of meat sauce.
  • Repeat the layers: noodles, remaining ricotta mixture, more cheese, and more meat sauce.
  • Finish with a final layer of noodles, meat sauce, and a generous topping of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  • Cover the baking dish with foil (ensure it doesn’t touch the cheese).
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  • Allow the lasagna to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your homemade lasagna!
